Yeah, “Thanks a bunch” would much more most likely be taken as sarcasm for us brits…so could very easily have the alternative effect/be taken the incorrect way…Then it however doesn’t require “you’re welcome,” but does need A further letter of thanks for that existing — which the receiver needn’t reply, so that is the end of you
